A New Project

New comic site!!!!! (WHAT!?)

As some of you may know, when I’m not doing the Tavern Wenches thing, I do the Software Developer thing for work. Which may beg the question of “How did a software developer get into this comic thing anyway,” to which I answer, I doodled a lot in my notebooks in college. For those of you who have no idea who I am, um, read the introduction comic. Hopefully that explains the important bits.

But even as I continued working on Tavern Wenches, I realized that I wanted to do something that related to the coding. My first attempt with this was the original Monster Markup Manual, which I did during 24 hour comic day. There is a google hangout video floating around somewhere on the internet, that I will not link to. Needless to say, I was SUPER tired by the end of it, but I had a lot of fun. And as I went to bed, having drawn comics for about 20 or so hours straight, I realized that this whole comics to teach code thing was something I wanted to do, but I wanted to make sure that this time I did it right (and with plenty of sleep).

These early strips will be covering the basics, but future topics will go into responsive design, writing your out Ability Modifier Score Calculator in Javascript, and whatever else I happen to think of (or stuff people would like to hear about).

Also all code (if any) for each strip can be found on my github page, which will be linked to in this section.

Also in an effort to make this site a bit more of a tutorial resource, I’ve made the code I wrote for the Monster Markup Manual theme available on my github as well, for people wondering how I did things.
